I am looking for information on my GGGrandfather who may have lived in Barton County, but died in Montevallo Twp., Vernon County. I have visited Nevada, MO once and obtained a copy of his will. That is where I found the above information. His name is Milton Baker. He was in the Civil War; IL 49th Regiment. He became ill during the first year and was discharged due to medical disability in 1862. He moved from Illinois to Barton County/Vernon County area following his discharge. His daughter Violet Susan A. Baker married while living in the area. She married William Jefferson Hoston on August 25, 1874 at the residence of James Dillon in Vernon County, MO. When Milton passed away on August 22, 1871, his wife was expecting a child and moved back to Illinois. I would like to find his grave and any other information I can about him. We will be coming to Missouri (Tablerock Lake area) later this month and would like to visit your Courthouse and Genealogy Society. Please send me hours that they are open. Thanking you in advance for any assistance you can give me.
