I am a descendent of John Wackerman. John Wackerman was Howard Wackerman's father. Howard Wackerman is my great uncle. Howard, who recently passed away, was a lifetime resident of Nevada, Mo.
I am trying to find out who John Wackerman's parents were. I am especially interested in John's mother. What was her maiden name? Where did she come from?
I have very little information about the Wackerman's. Howard's sister, my great aunt, Francis is still alive, but knows nothing about her grandparents. My grandmother, Mary (Wackerman) Schraeder, was born in 1908 so I know that the family lived in that area during the early 1900's.
Thank you very much for any information you can provide.
Sincerely,
Brian D. Nuest

I am needing ANY information to direct me connecting with our families who were in that area in the late 1800s and until the present. My name is William P. Stewart, the son of Harry Orlando Stewart, who in turn was the son of Oren Mansyl Stewart. Oren married Carrie Alida Cottrell in Eldorado Springs, MO on 2 Sept. 1883 and they resided in Schell City, Mo for an unknown number of years. Probably from about 1883 until after 1902, when he brifly moved to Center, Colorado. Shortly after, his wife Carrie Alida Cottrell died in Schell City, MO in 1905 and is buried in Green Lawn, Bacon Twp. 1 mi west of Schell City, MO. I believe all of his children were born in Schell City and they were, Walter Arthur Stewart, Birdette Leora Stewart, Harry Orlando Stewart, Cora Lucille Stewart Mitchem (still living at 99), and Annabelle Stewart Lewis. Regrettably, my Aunt Lucille's present recollections, are not very dependable. I am trying to trace Oren's origins, which I only know as follows. After Carrie Alida's death, he remarried Alice Porter and resided in Ladoga, Indiana until his death on 25 Nov. 1931, when he was buried in the Old Indan Creek Cemetery near Ladoga, IN. An obituary I have says he was born in McHenry County Riley, IL and that his occupation was "blacksmith". Contact has been established with the McHenry County Genealogical Society, but with little success so far.
