I am a descendent of John Wackerman. John Wackerman was Howard Wackerman's father. Howard Wackerman is my great uncle. Howard, who recently passed away, was a lifetime resident of Nevada, Mo.

I am trying to find out who John Wackerman's parents were. I am especially interested in John's mother. What was her maiden name? Where did she come from?

I have very little information about the Wackerman's. Howard's sister, my great aunt, Francis is still alive, but knows nothing about her grandparents. My grandmother, Mary (Wackerman) Schraeder, was born in 1908 so I know that the family lived in that area during the early 1900's.

Thank you very much for any information you can provide.

Sincerely,

Brian D. Nuest

STEUCK and MOSER -- Searching for ancestors, siblings and their descendants of Frederick Herman STEUCK, b 17 Jul 1863, Germany, d 18 Feb. 1927 in Papinville, Bates Co., Mo., married April 1889 in Marysville, Marshall Co., Kan., to Rosetta MOSER, b 18 May 1869 in Bern District of Switzerland, d 12 June 1952 in Rich Hill, Bates Co., Mo. In a newspaper obituary, Herman, as he was known, was reported born in Pectin, Germany, but I am unable to find Pectin on a map, although I have heard he was from Prussia. His parents were Carl Steuck (b 1839) and Elizabeth RODKIE (b 1840). Herman Steuck had four siblings living in the U.S. at the time of his death: 1] Fritz (b 15 Apr 1865) in St. Joseph's, Mo.; 2] William M. (b abt 1871) in Kansas City, Mo.; 3] Carl Ferdinand (b abt 1873) in Nevada, Vernon Co., Mo., m to a FOX; 4] Emma S. (b abt 1869) in Kansas City, Mo., m to a BRAUNLICH. He also left two brothers and two sisters in Germany: Gustave (b abt 1867) and Carlene (b abt 1868); the other two names are unknown. Herman and Rosetta had three sons: 1] Frederick "Fritz" Steuck, b 15 Apr 1890, Marysville, Kan., d May 1979 in Rockville, Bates Co., Mo., m 10 Jan. 1912 in Lutherville, Johnson Co., Ark., to Katherine Marie Emma "Katie" DOEPEL, b 3 Dec. 1890 in Lutherville, Ark., d Nov. 1978 in Papinville, Mo.; 2] Gustave Herman Steuck, b 31 Jan 1892 in Harwood, Vernon Co., Mo., d 1 April 1958 in Papinville, m 2 Jan 1912 in Nevada, Mo., to Mae FIX, b 30 Jul 1888 in Nashville, Kingman Co., Kan., d 10 Nov. 1960 in Rich Hill, Mo.; 3] Ernest William Steuck, b 21 Jul in Harwood, Mo., d 22 Feb 1920 in Schell City, Vernon Co., Mo., m 26 Feb 1914 in Rich Hill, Mo., to Verda Arvilla STRADER, b 27 Sept 1895 in Nevada, Mo., d 3 Jan 1965 in Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Co., Calif. I have a little information on descendants of four of Herman's siblings, although I cannot attest to its reliability: 1] Fritz Steuck had three sons: Paul A., b 9 Feb 1908 in Mo., d 19 Jan. 1990 in Mo.; William, b 30 May 1914 in Mo., d Mar 1985 in Mo., m to Mary DEEM; Albert H. (no other data); 2] Emma (Steuck) Braunlich had two sons: William, b 23 Mar 1902 in Mo., d Jul 1980 in Mo., and Arthur (no other data); 3] William M. Steuck had two daughters: Helen and Elizabeth; 4] Carl Ferdinand Steuck m Helen Fox and they had a daughter, Marie (no data), and a son, Walter Paul, b 14 Dec. 1909 in Mo., d Oct 1974 in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Fla. 146 William P. Stewart Thu Mar 26 1998

My name is William P. Stewart, the son of Harry Orlando Stewart, who in turn was the son of Oren Mansyl Stewart. Oren married Carrie Alida Cottrell in Eldorado Springs, MO on 2 Sept. 1883 and they resided in Schell City, Mo for an unknown number of years. Probably from about 1883 until after 1902, when he brifly moved to Center, Colorado. Shortly after, his wife Carrie Alida Cottrell died in Schell City, MO in 1905 and is buried in Green Lawn, Bacon Twp. 1 mi west of Schell City, MO. I believe all of his children were born in Schell City and they were, Walter Arthur Stewart, Birdette Leora Stewart, Harry Orlando Stewart, Cora Lucille Stewart Mitchem (still living at 99), and Annabelle Stewart Lewis. Regrettably, my Aunt Lucille's present recollections, are not very dependable. I am trying to trace Oren's origins, which I only know as follows. After Carrie Alida's death, he remarried Alice Porter and resided in Ladoga, Indiana until his death on 25 Nov. 1931, when he was buried in the Old Indan Creek Cemetery near Ladoga, IN. An obituary I have says he was born in McHenry County Riley, IL and that his occupation was "blacksmith". Contact has been established with the McHenry County Genealogical Society, but with little success so far.

KEITH who married HENRY BENTON HAUSER, NELLIE/NELLY KEITH who is believed to be still living in Veneta OK., There is mention of three grand daughters still living at the time CLEORA'S mother CANDACIA (COMPTON) SAMPSON/PHILLIPS died. Those lised are Mrs. PERRY KEITH, Mrs. ISAAC MILLER and Mrs. FRANK HEISTAND. The parents of HENRY BENTON HAUSER are JOHN SANFORD HAUSER and AMANDA ELIZEBETH (maiden unknown) I am extreemly interested to know the maiden name of AMANDA ELIZEBETH.
