CHARLES C. TAYLOR

From the 1887 History of Vernon County, Missouri, p. 758:

Charles C. Taylor

(Farmer, Section 14, Post-office, Enoch).

Mr. Taylor was born in Medina county, O., December 31, 1835.  His parents were Cyrus C. and Mary L. (Catant) Taylor, both natives of Cincinnati, and in their family were eight children, of whom Charles C. was the fourth child.  He was reared in Ohio until the age of twelve years, then removing to Kentucky, where he made his home for many years, living in both Lincoln and Pulaski counties.  In 1872, upon removing to Missouri, he took up a settlement in Vernon county, and here he has continued to reside, numbered among the active, intelligent tillers of the soil in this part of the county.  His farm of 160 acres while, perhaps, not as large as others that might be mentioned, is managed in an almost faultless manner, and in a way that many might do well to imitate.  Mr. Taylor has been twice married.  First, in 1864, to Miss Fannie Dye, of Pulaski county, Ky.; who died in 1874, leaving five children:  Laura, since deceased; Ella, wife of White Pierce, of Texas; Lula, now Mrs. Hern Nowel, of Texas; William and Wallace.  Mrs. Susan Bridgewater, of Lincoln county, Ky., became Mr. Taylor's second wife in 1874, and one child has blessed this union, Leona.  Mrs. Taylor has three children by a former marriage:  Sallie, wife of W. T. Parrish; Pattie, now Mrs. C. C. H. Jennings, and Henry.
