KING P. GRACE King Porter Grace, 80, a former Nevada resident, died Aug. 19 at his home at Cape Fair, Table Rock Lake, following a long illness. Born Aug. 2, 1902, at Nevada, he was the son of William Gary and Caroline Risher Grace. He was married to Olive Gardner. While living in Nevada he was a fireman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and a salesman for Ellis Music and Furniture Store. He moved to California in 1939 and to Wichita, Kan., in 1949, where he was manager for the Weaver Music Company, later the Royal Stores and the Furniture Warchouse. He retired to the Melton Peninsula, Cape Fair at Table Rock Lake. He is survived by his wife, Olive, of the home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 23, at Milster Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating. Interment will be in Deepwood Cemetery. GRACE SERVICES Services for King Porter Grace, 80. were held this morning at Milster Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating. Mrs. B. R. Kapple played the organ selections. Pallbearers were Lynn Ewing, Burton Hoffman, Morris Nunn, Brad Pittenger, Ron Pittenger and Joe Simon. Interment was in Deepwood Cemetery. W. G. Grace Rites Here Father Of Nevadans Victim Of Slugging Funeral services for William Gary Grace 68, who died last week in a Richmond, Calif., hospital from injuries resulting from a blow on the head, will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. at the Hays Funeral Service. Mr. Grace, the father of Mrs. Robert Ewing and Mrs. Boyd Ewing of Nevada, was injured fatally on Feb. 10 when struck on the head while an innocent party to an altercation in a tavern at Point Richmond. His body arrived here from California this morning, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Isabel Grace. The Rev. Charles B. Marrs, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the family lot at Newton Burial Park. Leon Albert Graves, 28, was held in Richmond on a murder charge in connection with Mr. Grace's death. The complaint against Graves was signed by King P. Grace son of the deceased man. At the time of the unprovoked attack, witnesses told police that Mr. and Mrs. Graves were sitting in a booth in the tavern when a waitress and patrons were attempting to evict an intoxicated man. Mr. Grace rose to protest at the language the man was using when a man walked over to him and suddenly struck him on the head without warning, knocking him unconscious. AT THE TIME, Mr. Grace was revived and believed not seriously hurt. It was not until last week that it was discovered he had suffered a serious injury and was removed to the hospital for treatment. Mr. Grace was a native of Montevallo and left Nevada six years ago to go to California. He was employed there as a patrolman by a private agency and had lived in Richmond for the past five years. Missouri Services For W. G. Grace Funeral services for William Gary Grace, 66, of Canal building 110, apartment 14, who died yesterday morning in a Richmond hospital as the result of a blow on the head February 10, will be held in Nevada, Mo., where Grace formerly lived. The head injury was suffered in an attack in a Point Richmond tavern, for which a charge of murder yesterday was filed against Leon Albert Graves of 91 Scenic avenue, accusing him of attacking Grace. Grace was a native of Montevallo, Mo. He was a patrolman employed by a private agency in Richmond and had lived in this city for the past five years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Isabel E. Grace; by his daughters, Mrs. Boyd Ewing and Mrs. Robert Ewing, both of Nevada, Mo.; a son, King P. Grace of Richmond; and two grandchildren. The remains will be sent to Nevada, Mo., tomorrow, with Wilson and Kratzer in charge of local arrangements. [The Independent, Richmond, California; Thursday 20 February 1947 page 3]

Grace, father of King Grace, both of Richmond, California, Mrs. Boyd Ewing and Mrs. Robert Ewing, both of Nevada, Missouri. Also survived by two grandchildren. A native of Missouri, aged 66 years. Remains will be forwarded to Nevada, Missouri, Friday, February 21, 1947, for services and burial there. Wilson & Kratzer Chapel, Bissell avenue at Seventh street, in charge of local arrangements.
