In Memoriam

of

C. T. Davis

Christopher T. Davis was born at Pittsylvania Co. Virginia the 10th day of May 1846 and departed this life at Nevada, Missouri on the 14th day of Oct. 1898.  Though young in years he rendered gallant service in the Confederate army.  Soon after the close of the war he located at Nevada, Missouri, and read law in the office of S. A. Wight.  He was admitted to the Bar of Vernon County on the 18th day of November 1870.  He was Prosecuting Attorney of this County during the years 1877 and 1878, and 1883 and 1884.  He was a man of sterling integrity and the soul of honor: zealous in the interest of his clients: faithful in the performance of every duty, private or official.  In his intercourse with his brethern (sic) of the bar he was genial, companionable, courteous, and considerate.

An affectionate husband, a kind father, and good lawyer, an excellent citizen, a faithful public servant, the members of the Bar of Vernon County in testimony of their respect and esteem present this memorial and request that it be spread upon the records of the Court.
