The last child born to Hugh M. and Nancy Ann (Harvey) Caton on March 18, 1868 was named Robert Edmond Lee Caton. The naming of children speaks to post-Civil War sentiments of Vernon Countians. Robert E. Lee, called Lee, married Artie Jane Woods on January 19, 1887. She was the daughter of George Washington and Margret Angeline (Jones) Woods. The photograph above may have been taken around the time of their marriage, as they both appear rather young.
