JAMES M. BRADBURN

 

Uncle Jim Bradburn Died Friday Morning

   James M. Bradburn passed away at 12:15 o'clock Friday morning, aged 81 years and 23 days. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Sunday at 1:30 o'clock p.m., conducted by Rev. B. W. Hughes of Stotesbury. Burial was in the G. A. R. lot in Balltown cemetery.

   Deceased was born near Perryville, Ind., February 18, 1844. He was married to Catherine Conley February 18, 1856 [1866 in Tazewell Co, IL]. The wife died March 4, 1901.  He was married the second time to Armetha Dixon in May, 1902. She died a few years later.

   On August 27, 1862, he enlisted in Co. H [A], 85th Ill. Inf., and served until June 6, 1865. Over fifty years ago he came to this locality and continued to reside here until his death. For the past eight years he made his home with Frank Howell and wife where he received the best of care and attention. He was a member of Mt. McGregor Post No. 252, G. A. R., his death leaving but two members of that organization. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Vanaman, of Nevada.
